According to Daily trust 45 federal lawmakers who currently sitting
in the national assembly represent their various constituencies across
the country are reported to have only had senior secondary school
certificate (WAEC, NECO) or Grade 2 teachers’ certificate as a
qualification.
This information contained listed of National assembly members in the
2015 general elections on the official website of Independent National
electoral Commission INEC.
Daily trust reports raises fears among political stakeholders and
analysts over the impact of such a development on the Quality of
legislation, the 45 lawmakers showed that 11% of national assembly
comprising 109 senators and 360 Representatives are low educated.
The list also showed that 28 of the lawmakers are of the All
Progressive Congress(APC) and 21 others got elected on the tickets of
people Democratic party(PDP) with west African school
certificate(WASC),Senior school certificate Examination(SSCE), West
African Examination Certificate (WAEC),General Certificate (GCE) or
Teachers Grade 2 Certificate.
