Super Eagles Coach, Rohr Reacts To Mikel Obi’s Move To China
The captain of Nigeria’s national team, has signed a three-year deal with Tianjin TEDA, after leaving Chelsea on a free transfer.
Rohr also advised other Nigerian players to move during the January transfer window.
“Some are not playing in their clubs and now is the month, very important January when they can change clubs to play and have competition,” he told Channels TV on Friday.
“It is very important that Super Eagles players have competition in their clubs.
“He (Mikel) did not play much in the last month. He played in the Olympics, don’t forget it – he played all the games. He also played all the games for Super Eagles but (only) did not play in Chelsea.
“So I am happy that he can play now in China. It is always better to play in China than to stay in Chelsea and not play.
“He is now nearing the end of his career and it is normal that he is looking for a good contract,” the coach said.

Aisha Buhari Abused Privileges In London?… Her Reaction
Mrs Buhari has described as baseless and mischievous, a report on linking her with allegations of abuse of privileges at the Nigerian High Commission in London.
She made this known in a statement by Mrs Adebisi Olumide-Ajayi, her Special Assistant on Media in Abuja on Friday.
The statement reads in part:
“It was not in the interest of Mrs Buhari to join issues with anyone, but necessary to put the record in proper perspective.
“This is necessary as it concerns her trip to UK and the Nigerian High Commission in London. Mrs Buhari had never traveled with a large entourage to London as reported by the Saharareporters.
“The Nigerian High Commission in London had never offered any favour either in cash or material to Mrs Buhari”.
She said that the record were not hidden for non-mischievous reporter, who intend to inform the people and not to disparage the president’s family.
“Mrs Buhari would have ignore the publication like all such baseless accusations, but for the angle with which the report was presented has a corruption and abuse of privileges connotation.
“This, however, negate the fundamental principles upon which Buhari’s administration thrives.
“It is on record that the Nigerian High Commission in London did not receive Aisha Buhari at the Airport with any official distinction or privilege as it was accorded other first ladies before her.
“She never complained or raised dust about any of these act by the High Commission because of the understanding as clearly spelt out and practiced by her husband.
“That public office must be separated from the private lives of the occupants. Even her drivers are privately arranged without any recourse to embassy for staff.”
Court Orders Banks To Handover $153m Diezani Fund To FG
The money which was allegedly siphoned from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, by former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueze, was stashed in three banks in the country.
This sum included N23,446, 300,000 in Sterling Bank Plc, N9,080,000,000 in First Bank Plc and $5m in Access Bank Plc.
Justice Muslim Hassan further ordered Sterling Bank and any other interested party 14 days to appear before him to prove the legitimacy of the monies, failing which the funds would be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
The judge made the order in favour of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission which appeared before him on Friday with an ex parte application seeking the temporary forfeiture of the funds.
In a nine-paragraph affidavit filed in support of the ex parte application, an EFCC investigator, Moses Awolusi, claimed that the anti-graft agency discovered through its investigations how sometime in December 2014 Diezani invited a former Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Plc, Nnamdi Okonkwo, to her office where they hatched the plan of how a cash sum of $153,310,000 would be moved from NNPC to Okonkwo to be saved for Diezani.
According to Awolusi, Diezani instructed Okonkwo to ensure that the money was “neither credited into any known account nor captured in any transaction platforms” of Fidelity Bank.
